Iran Rejects Allegations of Recruiting Iranians to Assassinate Israeli Officials
WANA (Nov 04) – The Iranian mission to the United Nations in New York has dismissed reports claiming that Iran is recruiting Iranian citizens in the occupied territories to carry out missile attacks or assassinations against Israeli officials.
In response to questions from American media outlets, the mission stated, “These allegations are baseless and logically implausible. Naturally, Israel’s intelligence services would first suspect individuals of Iranian origin, followed by Muslims in general. Therefore, common sense suggests that Iran’s intelligence services would likely turn to non-Iranian and non-Muslim individuals for such actions.”
The Israeli Security Agency, known as Shin Bet (Shabak), recently issued a statement alleging intensified efforts by Iran to carry out assassination plots against Israeli targets in the occupied territories, claiming it had thwarted several such attempts.
In the statement, Shabak noted, “In recent weeks, we have observed an increase in Iran’s efforts to promote assassination plots against targets in Israel. In this context, Shabak has conducted significant counter-operations, some of which were in advanced stages of planning and preparation for execution.”
